When we stripped the old shingles, we found the original wood-plank sheathing underneath — not plywood or OSB, but the wide boards that tell you this building has been around for generations.
Our crew inspected every board, secured anything that had loosened over the years, and then built the new system on top: ProArmor synthetic underlayment across the full deck, ice & water shield at all eaves and valleys, and dark charcoal architectural shingles that complement the white clapboard perfectly.
